About Boris Simon

Education Specialist

Boris Simon is a New Jersey-located public educator and administrator with an extensive background in the academic field.

Before pursuing a career of this type, Boris racked up several educational milestones for himself. From William Paterson University in Wayne, he holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership. Additionally, Boris earned his Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College in Mahwah. Taking his education one step further, Boris set out to receive his Doctorate in Educational Leadership, as he believes that this further dive into the subject can continue to open doors in his career and aid in his goal of removing academic barriers for students.

Through his experience as both a teacher and principal, Boris Simon has gained in-depth experience in and out of the classroom environment, giving him a deeper insight into the disparities within education and his students’ desires. During his time as an elementary school teacher, he collaborated very closely with the parents and other teachers to ensure his students’ academic success. Students are at an impressionable stage of their lives throughout these developmental years. They look to their leaders and peers as examples, but social circles also begin forming during this period and can have quite an impact. With this knowledge, Boris worked diligently to create a positive peer culture between his students by establishing a peer mediation program. His efforts went to great lengths towards creating a more unified student body.

As he acquired the title of Principal, Boris Simon continued to prioritize this goal and brainstorm ways to unify the student body, both through school initiatives and parent involvement. As he began implementing these strategies and involving himself more directly with student affairs, Boris began seeing his goals start to pay off. His leadership led to improved student behavior and the emergence of valuable community relationships, all of which are critical to a thriving school environment.

Along with these successes, Boris was also able to gain higher attendance rates from his students and decreased suspension rates. In collaboration with these goals, Boris found the Positive Behavior Supports in Schools intervention model to be of great assistance. Looking forward, he wants to continue fostering these relationships with the larger community, improving student morale, and creating innovative programs that benefit all students and faculty. Boris Simon has always been a goal-oriented leader, implementing his objectives to better the communities he serves in.

Boris spends a great deal of time in the educational sphere, but he also has a deep-imbedded interest in sports. As a fan of football, basketball, and baseball, he can often be found cheering on the Giants, the Knicks, and the Yankees. He also takes much interest in studying history, particularly Atlanta, Georgia’s social and cultural heritage.
